  • Zelda: Skyward Sword 4K Texture Pack (Wii Edition) | Henriko Magnifico

Hello! This is the info page for my SS 4K texture pack project! Some general info regarding this texture project which you should read before you download it: (The download link is at the bottom of this page!) In it's current state, the texture pack includes several hundred HD textures, remade from the ground up. They cover most areas of the game, but some locations such as some interiors or dungeons are not yet covered. The game is completely playable all the way through with these textures! I am completely up for suggestions, changes and submissions. You will of course be fully credited for any work you submit. The 4K version of the texture pack is scaled to 8x the default resolution. The 1080p version is scaled to 4x the default resolution. The 4K version will still look better than the 1080p version , even if you're not using a 4K display, because the textures simply contain more detail. My goal with this texture pack is to enhance the original game visuals whilst staying faithful to the original vision. That means my textures are meant to blend in as much as possible with the old textures so the game feel doesn't change. This texture pack will work with any custom mods / hacks of Zelda: Skyward Sword as long as they aren't adding new textures or changing old ones (in that case, conflicting textures will be overwritten by one another but it will still work). Ishiiruka-Dolphin is required to make material maps, shaders and other nice visual features work. There is a custom fork of Ishiiruka Dolphin inside the texture pack download which you can use, or alternatively download the latest version of Ishiiruka-Dolphin . If you want to play without a real Wiiremote + Nunchuck, you need to use regular Dolphin (use the latest Development Build) . There is no 60 FPS patch available as of yet. You can however play the game using a tool such as Lossless Upscaling to achieve an interpolated 60 fps, at the cost of some input delay and artifacting. Currently, only NTCS textures have been modified . You can still use this texture pack on European / Japanense / Korean versions of the game in Dolphin, it will still work. This will not include the PAL/Jap/Kor region specific textures though. If you are having issues with stuttering and lag, remember to check "Prefetch Custom Textures" in the 'Advanced' tab of the Graphics settings before asking for help. I also recommend enabling V-Sync as it removes screen tearing in full screen mode. This project is in no way affiliated with the Zelda: Skyward Sword Remastered texture Pack project! Feel free to join my Discord server for updates on all my texture packs! Why would I play with this over the original Wii / Switch HD versions? There are many reasons why you would want to play the game with a HD texture pack over playing it on a real Wii / Wii U or even the Switch HD version. Here are some I've listed out the top of my head; Better visuals (Higher resolution textures, material mapping, rim lighting, depth of field, ambient occlusion, global illumination, customizable tonemapping, custom post processing shaders and even ray tracing!) Fully customizable controls Supports ANY controller, including Joy-Con, Switch Pro Controller, Xbox and PS4/PS5. Less blur / remove it completely if you like Superior mods and modding tools Free Cam ("Fly anywhere you want with the camera". Great for cinematics) Supports a plethora of cheats and patches Stereoscopic 3D support VR Potential Supports emulated Wii-controls (You can play the game using a normal controller, no need for a Wiimote & Nunchuck unless you want to!) Video preview (Please watch in 2160p, 60 FPS for the best experience!) Installation: If you're on Windows: There is minimal installation! A special preconfigured version of Dolphin called Ishiiruka Dolphin is provided alongside the texture pack. Simply extract the folder somewhere and start Dolphin using "Zelda SS 4K (Edition Version).exe", then open up your own game rom of Zelda: Skyward Sword and play. If you're on Mac or Linux: please manually download Dolphin from this page for your operating system and copy all of the contents of the texture pack's "user" folder (not the folder itself, but everything inside it) to your Dolphin directory (on macOS, your Dolphin Directory is inside of ~/Library/Application Support/Dolphin ) . Next make sure to enable "Use Custom Textures" in the Dolphin Graphics Settings > Advanced tab, or else the custom textures won't load! And finally, you also need the game rom to start the game, which isn't included for legal reasons. Information on how to dump your own game rom legally can be found here. For SteamDeck users the installation is a bit different. First you must download Dolphin, this can easily be done through the use of a program like Emudeck or through Flatpak . If you installed Dolphin through Emudeck, your Dolphin directory will be located inside of /home/deck/.var/app/org.DolphinEmu.dolphin-emu/config/dolphin-emu/ . You must right click inside the Dolphin directory > Menu > Check the box for "Show Hidden Files" or else you may not be able to access the Dolphin folder. The rest of the installation is the same as for Linux/MacOS, which you can find above. For Android users, the process is also a bit different. First download the latest Dolphin Emulator from the Google Play Store , or download the latest "Development Version" APK directly from here , install it on your device and try running your game rom in it to make sure everything is working before installing the texture pack itself. Next, download the 1080p version of the texture pack on your device (the 4K version might not work on some android devices) and extract it using any .zip unarchival app (some android versions have this feature built in, whilst some require a third party app to unzip .zip files). Once that is done, open the texture pack folder and navigate to the user > load > textures folder. Next, copy the folder called " GZ2 " to this location on your device; Internal Storage/dolphin-emu/load/textures Now finally, enable the "Load Custom Textures" option inside the Dolphin Graphics Settings > Advanced tab. Then set the "Internal Resolution " in the Graphics Settings to a higher value than the default 1x (start with 2x and increase from there, if it starts to lag lower the internal resolution again ). Then start the game. It should say a disclaimer about the texture pack before the game starts, that's how you know it's working. Enjoy! For iOS users, the process is very similar to that of Android. However install Dolphin is a bit trickier and will require that you use DolphiniOS , which has it's own installation instructions provided here . NO GAME ROM OR GAME FILES ARE INCLUDE D WITH THIS TEXTURE PACK. SHARING GAME ROMS IS PIRACY AND IS ILLEGAL. DO NOT ASK FOR THEM HERE OR ON DISCORD, OR YOU WILL BE MUTED. If you encounter any issues with the texture pack please post them on the Forums or on Discord ! Enjoy! Download it from here Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ): Why is the game crashing / displaying "Fifo Error: Shutting Down" The reason why is most likely because you don't have the latest C++ Redist from Microsoft installed . This is required on most Windows setups or else the game won't boot. You can download it for free from Microsoft's website here. If it's still crashing after you've installed C++ Redist, it might be because you're using an WBFS, WFS or .NKIT ISO. You need a regular ISO version to play the game without any errors- NKIT is NOT supported. You can convert your NKIT to a regular ISO easily using the free NKIT to ISO converter. It's night time in Skyloft from the beginning / the image is flickering constantly! This is the result of an incompatible Depth of Field removal / Art Impressionist Reducer code being active for your particular revision & region of the game. To fix it , simply replace the "Art Impressionist Reducer" code with the correct one in the game properties (right click the game in the games list > properties > AR Codes / Gecko Codes tabs ) for your specific revision and region version of the game. You find your revision and region of the game in the game properties > info tab. See the list here: PAL ONLY (European version): Art Style Intensity Modifier for Revision 0 [Anarion] 04593564 00000000 Art Style Intensity Modifier for Revision 1 [Anarion] 0457ba98 00000000 NTSC ONLY (American version): Background Blur Removal for Revision 0, possibly Revision 1 [Anarion] 0257a350 00000000 Background Blur Removal for Revision 2 [Anarion] 0257aa30 00000000 How do I pull the sword from the altar in the beginning? The sword part in the beginning can be a bit tricky. What you need to do is to is hold A+ZR (or R2, depending on the controller you have), and then pull the right stick down and then up again slowly. Can I customize the visuals any more? If you're using the post-processing version which uses Ishiiruka Dolphin, yes absolutely! Go to the Graphics settings in Dolphin > Post-Processing tab and click "Options". Then customize the selected shader to your heart's content! How do I get it to work on mobile? It's easy! Simply download the Android / iOS version of the pack and then extract the included "User" folder to your primary Dolphin directory. You can find Dolphin for Android on the Google Play Store for free, and Dolphin for iOS is available through the service DolphiniOS (An iPhone 11 or later, iPhone SE Gen 2 or iPad Air/Pro 2020 or beyond is recommended for optimal performance!) Changelog: 1.0.5 (2021-08-01): Full Dualshock / Dualsense support (including gyro controls) Background Blur Removal now works on ALL western versions of the game! New textures in Lanayru desert and Skyloft Bug fixes and other minor improvements 1.0.4 (2021-06-01): Updated Link's face so that he doesn't look as sleep deprived as before (bags under his eyes) Fixed Link's gross finger nails, they now look normal! Link's gloves are now in HD. New textures for shields and shield icons Fixed an issue where Gaepora's eyes would display completely black Fixed a freezing issue that would occur before the final fight with Ghirahim (does not fix in saves already affected, unfortunately this fix will only affect new save games made using this version and beyond) Fixed a crash that could occur when soaring down to the overworld for the first time if you were using the Vulkan API Fixed an issue where the textures wouldn't display if you used Revision 0 of the PAL version of the game. Fixed an issue where the the simulated motion controls wouldn't work for Dualsense controllers (PS5 controllers) Some textures were missing from the Standard Edition of the pack that existed in the Post Processing version, they are now included in the Standard Edition as well! Fixed an issue where cleaning the house of one of the NPCs wasn't possible so you got stuck in the house and couldn't get out (soft lock). 1.0.3 (2021-03-02): Much, much improved controls. I present the Ultimate Gamepad Preset 5.0! Completely remade from scratch. It feels awesome! (Use the right stick to move up or down, or to fly faster to either direction. Use the right trigger to flap your wings (to gain height) and lastly use A to boost. That's it! No much fiddeling with both sticks at the same time. No more crossing your fingers to hit three buttons on different sides of the controller at the same time) Flying is no longer a pain! Combat controls have been overhauled as well. Simply move the right stick to move Link's sword to that direction, and then press RB (right backside button) to slash your sword! Jump and spin attack are now easy to do with a regular controller (Just press down the left stick until it clicks!) Improved controls for Joy-con, Dualshock/Dualsense and Switch Pro Controllers with gyro support! Flying and aiming has never been easier. 1.0.2 (2021-01-14): Improved gamepad controls! The infamous reflection / shadow bug has been permanently fixed 70+ new 4K textures covering environments and interiors in several areas of the game. New controller profiles- including non-wiimote ones! This also support joy-con and Switch Pro controllers. 1.0.1 (2020-11-10): Introduced the "Standard Edition", which supports emulated WiiMotion Plus controls! Improved shader effects Various bug fixes and minor changes. 1.0.0 (2020-11-03): Initial release

  • Zelda: OoT 3D 4K Texture Pack 4.0 Update Changelog

Good morning! 🔆 Disregard the date this was posted on, this isn't a joke post, even if it seems to good to be true ;) I'm excited to finally announce the release of the next major version of the pack: version   4.0! 4.0 is the biggest update made to the pack since 2.0. In fact, this version includes over 350 new 4K textures, covering a plethora of parts of the game . And like last update, it's much more  than just that! You will be seeing a major leap in quality between 3.0 and 4.0, just like you did between 2.0 and 3.0. Other improvements include fully Italian translated 4K textures (finally, after a long wait!) and plenty of miscellaneous improvements and changes across the board. But I know you want to know more than just that, so here's some more details: 350+ New Textures! This update includes over 350 new 4K textures  which have been remade from the ground up for this version. This includes both environment textures  such as the ground, walls, stone tiles and bricks, wooden panels etc. It also includes many new interior textures , completely overhauling several locations, particularly in and around Kakariko Village, Lost Woods, the Forest Temple, Inside the Great Deku Tree, Gerudo Valley, Death Mountain, Lon Lon Ranch, Castle Town, Temple of Time, Hyrule Castle  and Hyrule Field. There are tons of miscellaneous textures  as well that have been completely remade, such as different types of wood and bark, many NPC textures, Link's garb (again), grass and groundcover, clovers, flowers, tree trunks, ladders, clouds, caves, fairy fountains, the Mirror Shield and many more . The pack also includes a beautiful Hylian Shield, which has been meticulously hand painted by fellow artist @SkilarBabcock , and it looks absolutely stunning. They previously contributed the gorgeous textures for Link in my Twilight Princess texture pack, and they're incredibly talented. Please check out their website  and follow them on their socials, they 100% deserve it. Like in previous updates, it helps it all comes together really nicely and makes the whole pack feel a lot more polished and complete. The details all add up! As part of my overarching goal to improve quality and consistency in all my texture packs, I took this update as an opportunity to remake many of the in-game textures to look cleaner and more consistent with the original art style. What's new with this version however, is that I've spent considerable time making sure every single texture added had a noticeable impact on the perceived quality of the area they belong to . Long term followers might know that I worked by a frequency priority system , where the most viewed textures received the highest priority to be remade. Starting with this version, I have moved over to a perceived-quality priority system . The difference is that with perceived-quality, I instead prioritize textures which I deem to have the biggest impact on the overhaul visual quality of an area , rather than how frequently that particular texture is displayed in-game. With the new system, textures which aren't necessarily common, but incredibly important to the overall visuals of an area (such as the Great Deku Tree for example) get prioritized over frequent but less noticeable textures (such as foliage). I have found this new approach to working highly effective, and I think you'll notice that the step-up in perceived quality in this version should be pretty drastic over previous versions! Also; Support for Italian language! As stated in previous posts, I'm working to add support for all in-game languages to my packs, starting with English then working my way through other popular languages. Next in turn for this pack is Italian, which if you're a long-time follower you might remember I made a promise to add support for Italian almost 3 years ago (!). I'm sorry it took so long to get around to finally adding it, but now it's finally here. Everything in menus, in-game text, button prompts and location names have been translated, and should work without issues. However, if there are any mistakes or errors regarding the translation, please let me know! Grazie! And many bugs fixes, optimizations and minor changes... Minor issues from the previous version has been fixed. Of course, there's always a chance I might have missed some, so if you encounter and issues or oversights with the pack, please let me know over on Discord or send me a private message here! That's mostly it for this update- Enjoy! Please feel free to try it out! (The texture pack does not  work on real 3DS hardware) You can find more information about the texture pack here I am only able to make things like this thanks to your support, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me do what I love! ❤️

  • Zelda: Twilight Princess 4K Texture Pack 3.0 Update Changelog

Happy New Year! 🎆 I’m very excited to announce version 3.0  of the Zelda: Twilight Princess 4K texture pack ! This is by far the largest update the project has received so far , introducing over 530 new 4K textures  across the game. This update includes a large number of new environment textures, a fully reworked UI, improvements to character textures, new and refined post-processing shaders, as well as many fixes, tweaks and general improvements. A significant amount of work has also gone into preparing the pack for future updates and new features. There’s a lot to cover, so here’s the more detailed changelog: New environment textures! Like in previous updates, a major focus of version 3.0 has been expanding and improving the game’s environment textures. Over 530 new 4K textures  have been added in this update, making it the biggest single expansion of coverage so far. This is not an incremental update, but a complete overhaul in some aspects, which you will notice if you compare it to 2.1. Several areas have received extensive texture updates, and many regions that previously had partial coverage have now been improved to feel more cohesive and complete. The new textures cover (but are not limited to) the following areas: Forest Temple (Completely overhauled) Hyrule Field (multiple regions) Ordon Village Ordon Ranch Ordon Spring Faron Woods Sacred Grove Castle Town and surrounding areas Kakariko Village & Graveyard Zora River Lake Hylia Gerudo Desert Telma's Bar Hyrule Castle Town Hyrule Castle Hyrule Castle Sewers Several additional dungeons and sub-areas Unlike some earlier updates, this version doesn’t focus on just a few specific locations — most areas of the game have been revisited in some way . The Ordona region, the Forest Temple, and large portions of Hyrule Field have seen especially significant improvements in this update. Visual effects such as falling leaves, butterflies or the twilight "walls" in Hyrule Field have also been updated and now look substantially higher quality than before. Completely reworked UI! Version 3.0 includes a fully reworked user interface , with most UI elements recreated at higher resolutions. Improved clarity and readability More consistent presentation across menus, HUD elements and icons Better scaling at higher resolutions Visual adjustments intended to stay faithful to the original design whilst still being high fidelity. The updated UI is intended to better match the overall quality level of the texture pack and provide a more comfortable experience when playing at modern resolutions without artifacts or pixelation. Improved character textures! Character textures have received a broad quality pass in this update. Many key characters, NPCs and enemies have been revisited to: Improve overall texture quality Increase quality consistency Better align with the original game’s visual style The intent here is refinement rather than redesign, focusing on subtle improvements that help the textures blend more naturally with the rest of the game. New and improved post-processing shaders! Version 3.0 introduces updated and refined post-processing shaders  with several notable improvements; Improved color balance and tone mapping Subtle contrast and lighting adjustments, including fixes for overly aggressive bloom. A more consistent visual presentation across different areas Increased consistency and overall quality improvements! A large portion of the work in this update has gone into revisiting older textures to improve consistency across the pack. Older HD textures have been cleaned up or adjusted Reduced visual inconsistencies between neighboring areas More cohesive presentation throughout the game The goal is to enhance visual clarity and consistency while respecting the original game’s art direction. Fixes, tweaks and other improvements! In addition to new textures, version 3.0 includes: Numerous texture fixes and UV alignment fixes Small visual tweaks across many areas General cleanup and polish throughout the pack These changes help improve overall quality and presentation, even if they’re not always immediately noticeable and only become apparent if you focus on the details. So to summarize this update, a LOT of things have changed and improved between the last version over the last year. I really hope you'll enjoy the new version of my textures! Also, there are some even bigger news related to TP coming soon (if you could believe it!), so please stay tuned for more announcements! That's it for this update. Enjoy!

  • Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 4K Texture Pack 2.0 Update Changelog

Good evening! 🌙 I'm excited to finally release the next major update to the A Link Between Worlds 4K Texture Pack project in a looooong while, version 2.0! (Sorry! It's been nearly 2 years since the last update. It's way overdue for a new one!) I hope this update makes up for the long wait- it's pretty huge. This update is pretty much a remake of the entire pack that's been underway for several months and includes many new 4K textures covering the whole game, with a primary focus on cleaning up and improving consistency and quality all around. It of course includes new environment textures, new character textures, user-interface upgrades, higher quality shaders and more! Also, it now supports the new texture pack format (finally completing the full transition to the new format for all my texture projects), which fixes several previous issues, such as frequent stuttering and the infamous "texture swapping" glitch present in previous versions, plus it now also fully supports the Vulkan graphics API. And that's just some of it! Here's a more detailed look at what's new: 160+ New Textures! This update includes over 160 new 4K textures, covering everything from environments to interiors to user interface elements to characters and more. It also uses the 'new' texture format, which opens up the doors for many more neat features later down the line. I also spent a lot of time going over and reviewing old textures from version 1.2.0 and earlier, and I found that many of the textures were not quite up to my standards (Like with some of my prior projects, I believe I've gotten a fair bit better at texture making over time) Therefore, I've decided to replace many old textures from the previous version with new, remade versions which should look a lot better than before. Consistency is key, as they say. And this pack was definitely not that in it's previous incarnation(s). It's still not perfect, but it's better, and I will continue to iterate on and improve the visuals in subsequent updates until it's as close to perfect as I can make it. It's a step-by-step process, but it helps it all comes together really nicely in the end and makes the whole pack feel a lot more polished and complete. The details all add up! New texture format, Vulkan support and Reshade updates This version includes support for the new custom texture system-rewrite! This fixes many notorious bugs, such as the stuttering that would occur whenever new textures were loaded in and the infamous and somewhat terrifying "texture swapping" bug which commonly occurred for many users. It also adds Vulkan support, which means increased compatibility with different systems (AMD GPUs and mobile devices especially) and more graphical features (normal map support, better mip maps etc.) This really adds a lot to the experience and makes the game much more enjoyable from start to finish. ReShade has also been updated to version 5.9.2, which also comes with several stability and feature improvements. More notably this update fixes the flickering of the depth buffer present in previous versions, making effects such as ambient occlusion much more usable. It also improves on performance a fair bit compared to previous versions! Updated Shader Presets (Henriko Ultra v8) The default Reshade shader presets that come with the pack have been updated and improved in this version! Henriko Ultra v8 is way better in pretty much every way than the previous Henriko Ultra v7 preset that came included with the 1.2.0 version of the pack. Colors are a bit warmer and look more pleasing with A Link Between World's color scheme, bloom has been reduced somewhat and depth based effects such as ambient occlusion and depth of field are now entirely optional and look nicer as well. New Reshade also uses the Vulkan backend by default, and should boost both performance and compatibility with various systems. Updated file structure and streamlined instructions The file structure and instructions have been remade to be more in line with those used by my other 3DS packs, making things easier for previous users of my other packs. This finally completes the full transition to the new texture pack file structure, so all my 3DS packs can now be installed with nearly identical instructions to each other. And many bugs fixes, optimizations and minor changes... Minor issues from the previous version has been fixed, including a bug which caused quarter hearts to not display correctly. Performance has also been improved due to the previously described optimizations. That's mostly it for this update. Enjoy! The update is available early to all Green Rupee+ Tier supporters, with a public release 2 months after that! There is also a 4K version available, if your computer can handle it! The 4K version includes higher quality textures than the 1080p version, and will work on all displays- even those that don't display in 4K resolution. It will still look better than the 1080p version, no matter the display! Please feel free to try it out! (**The texture pack does not work on real 3DS hardware). You can find more information about the texture pack here. I am only able to make things like this thanks to your support, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me do what I love! ❤️
